Well-known poker tour the Heartland Poker Tour has announced their schedule for the upcoming 2008 poker season. The HPT showcases smaller buy-in cost tournaments at casino facilities around the country.
The main tournaments are then broadcast in different markets in the U.S. and Canada. The HPT showcases a Player of the Year award and aims to make a normal poker player into a full-fledged poker star. The Heartland Poker Tour hosted eleven tournaments in 2006, sixteen tournaments in 2007 and plans to host even more tournaments for 2008.
Some of the events for 2008 are February 18th, 2008-February 25th, 2008-Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Onamia, Minnesota with $1,650 in buy-in cost. March 2nd, 2008-March 9th, 2008-Meskwaki Bingo Casino, Tama Iowa with no direct buy-in cost but with $340 for the qualifiers. April 19th, 2008-April 28th, 2008-Majestic Star Casino, Gary, Indiana with $2,200 in buy-in cost. May 6th, 2008-May 11th, 2008-Island Resort and Casino, Escanaba, Michigan with $1,650 in total buy-in cost.
June 25th, 2008-June 30th, 2008-Turning Stone Casino, Verona, New York with $1,650 in total buy-in cost. July 19th, 2008-July 28th, 2008-Majestic Star Casino, Gary, Indiana with $2,200 in total buy-in cost. August 17th, 2008-August 24th, 2008-Soaring Eagle Casino, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with $1,650 in total buy-in cost. September 15th, 2008-September 22nd, 2008-Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Onamia, Minnesota with $1,650 in total buy-in cost.
September 22nd, 2008-October 5th, 2008-Golden Gates Casino, Blackhawk, Colorado with no direct buy-in cost but with $340 for the qualifying event. October 15th, 2008-October 20th, 2008-Turning Stone Casino, Verona, New York with $2,200 in total buy-in cost. November 2nd, 2008-November 9th, 2008-Meskwaki Bingo Casino, Tama, Iowa with $1,650 in total buy-in cost.
November 19th, 2008-November 16th, 2008-Running Aces Card Room, Columbus, Minnesota with $2,700 in total buy-in cost but still needs to be approved by the Minnesota Racing Commission. November 18th, 2008-November 22nd, 2008-Casino Del Sol, Tucson, Arizona with $1,650 in total buy-in cost and on November 29th, 2008-December 8th, 2008-Majestic Star Casino, Gary, Indiana, HPT Championship with $2,700 in total buy-in cost.
