PokerStars "The Big Game" Poker Television Show

Previously, there have been rumors about a possible PokerStars-produced poker television show cash game television show and they have now been confirmed with the announcement of the "The Big Game" on March 29th, 2010.

Set to be shown on the FOX, the "The Big Game" will be a televised poker cash game with participants paying $100,000 and playing $200/$400 no-limit hold'em.

At this time, the only guaranteed participant on the event is Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. But according to the PokerStarsBlog, the "Big Game" will feature some of the top poker players in the world. Adding to the excitement to the whole thing is the announcement that each "Big Game" episode or poker-cash game session will feature a "loose canon" poker qualifier.

This will be a poker qualifier who will win a seat on PokerStars on a complete freeroll and receives $100,000 to join the well-known poker players for some high-stakes action. The PokerStars qualifier cannot leave the game during the middle if they are winning, but after the game is done, the qualifier can take home their winnings.

To qualify, interested players must live in either the United States or Canada and participate in a free "Round 1" qualifier, which started on March 26th, 2010 and will run until June 25th, 2010.

All the player need to do is finish in the top two hundred spots, at which point they will be invited to send a casting video to PokerStars explaining why they would be a good "loose cannon." If the poker qualifiers make a profit in the first game, they will be invited to play in the succeeding episode to let their stake grow.
