Poker Pro Doyle Brunson Pursues 11th WSOP Bracelet at the Stud 8 World Championship

Legendary poker pro Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson is going for his record breaking 11th World Series of Poker bracelet at the Stud 8 World Championship on June 20th, 2009. A huge crowd gathered around the final table with anticipation of seeing Brunson tied Hellmuth's eleven WSOP bracelets record.

Brunson is one of the most well-respected poker players in the circuit, so it was no surprise at all the fellow poker pros Mike Matusow, Cyndy Violette and Mike Caro were all present to cheer on the veteran poker player. Caro said that he believes that Brunson can do it. But even if Brunson fails this time, Caro firmly believes that Brunson will have another chance because of his excellent poker skills. He added Brunson is the ultimate poker icon and contributed to the growth of poker all over the world.

Currently, poker pro Phil Hellmuth holds the record for the most number of WSOP bracelets with eleven while Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan are tied with ten apiece since 2005. Brunson has not won a major poker event since 2005 although he has made some high-profile final tables including the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. in 2006.
