Absolute Poker and UB's (Ultimate Bet) Trishelle Cannatella are co-hosting a two-day charity poker event to support cancer research in Reno beginning on March 24th, 2010. The V Foundation Charity Poker Tournament will also feature a "Take It Downhill" Poker Pro Ski Challenge, silent auction and a private dinner.
Already confirmed to participate in the event and ski challenge are several well-known TEAM UB poker pros like Adam Levy, Michael Binger, Brandon Cantu, Matt Graham, Liv Boeree and Tiffany Michelle. Team Absolute Poker Pros Lacey Jones, Matt Vengrin, baseball star Jose Canseco and actor Mekhi Phifer are also planning to participate in the event.
The majority of the raised in the $200+$30 rebuy event will be given to the V Foundation for cancer research. This is not the first time that Cannatella supported a charity organization through the game of poker.
In early February 2010, Cannatella outwitted a field of sixty players to take home the title in a $1,000+$70 poker event benefitting the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The reality television star also made the final table of the WPT's (World Poker Tour) Celebrity Invitational benefitting Chrysalis, a non-profit group dedicated to helping financially challenged individuals become self-sufficient through job opportunities.
