The Largest and Grandest Poker Game of High Stakes Poker IV on GSN

Game Show Network's (GSN) High Stakes Poker continues their tradition of offering prime entertainment about the game of poker on television with the premier of High Stakes Poker IV on August 27, 2007, Monday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time/8:00 p.m. Central Time on GSN.

The prize money for the tournament is over $5 million. The 4th season of the High Stakes Poker showcases 17 episodes compared to the 13 episodes in season 3. Famous celebrities and top poker players will be fighting against each other, wagering $100,000 of their own cash in a no limit game of Texas Hold'em Poker.

The High Stakes Poker IV will be hosted by Gabe Kaplan and AJ Benza. The players that will participate at the event are Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, Jennifer Harman, Barry Greenstein, Eli Elezra, Phil Laak, Sammy Farha, Todd Brunson and 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold.

On November 5, 2007, HSP IV will do the unthinkable; the show will raise the minimum buy-in cost to $500,000. The final 7 of the 4th season are: Doyle Brunson, Jamie Gold, Daniel Negreanu, Sammy Farha, Antonio Esfandiari, Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine and Guy Laliberte.

This is the first appearance of Laliberte at High Stakes Poker. Laliberte is the owner and founder of the Cirque Du Soleil. Some of the players that are also appearing on High Stakes Poker for the first time are Mike Baxter, Brian Brandon, Brandon Adams, Phil Galfond, Bob Safai, Antonio Solorio and Haralabosa Voulgaris.
