Hansen Can Win His 4th Title at the World Poker Classic

On April 25th, 2008, the final poker table of the 2008 5-Star World Poker Classic event will happen. The 545 poker players have been scaled down to six players and poker pro Gus Hansen is the current chip leader. Hansen is in a good position to win the tournament. He has $8.5 million in total chips.

Hansen is currently 2,000,000 chips ahead of his closest rival, Cory Caroll. David Chiu is currently in 3rd position, with 6.05 million in total chips. John Roveto has $2.72 million in total chips. Tommy Le and Jeff King rounded up the final table. Both players have $1.95 million in total chips and $1.305 million in total chips.

If Gus Hansen wins the tournament and its corresponding $3.39 million 1st place cash prize, it will be his biggest paycheck yet. His previous cash prize is the $1.19 million that he won on the 2007 Aussie Millions Poker Main Event. Hansen is currently on 1st place on players with the most World Poker Tour victories.

Some of the players on the board with two victories each are Alan Goehring, Barry Greenstein, Carlos Mortensen, Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren, Michael Mizrachi and Tuan Le. 2nd place Cory Carroll is expected to give Hansen a tough fight.
