Daniel Negreanu Heads Big Swing Charity Golf Event at the Rio Secco Golf Club

Poker pro Daniel Negreanu has made no secret about his obsession with golf. Now he is putting that love into action with the Daniel Negreanu Big Swing charity golf tournament on June 25th, 2009. The Big Swing event will be held at the Rio Secco Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada and feature thirty amateur teams playing golf to raise funding for the Lili Claire Foundation.

Negreanu said that he loves playing poker, golf and the Lili Claire Foundation and this is a good opportunity to combine the three things that he loves most. To participate in the event, it is a $3000 donation for a foursome. All of the players will be invited to a pairing event brunch the morning of the event, during which a drawing will match each foursome with a celebrity poker pro for the golf event.

The complete list of poker players who will participate in the tournament is not yet released. A representative of Poker Royalty, which is responsible for the publicity of the event, stated that they will make an announcement as soon as poker pros sign-up.

Participants to the tournament can also anticipate a "Closest to the Pin" competition with Daniel Negreanu on the Par three, 7th hole at Rio Secco. Negreanu said that 100% of the cash that they will raise will go directly to Lili Claire Foundation.

The non-profit organization was started in 1998 by Keith and Leslie Litt Resnick to honor the memory of their daughter, Lili Claire, who died when she was just five months old due to Williams Syndrome.

The group helps improve the lives of kids like Lili Claire who were born with unique needs and to help the children's love one. To get more information about the tournament, interested individuals can log-in at bigswing.org.
